Kanye West is a talented rapper from the US. Many people think he is nuts, has the worst personality, and doesn’t know how to respect others. However, the reason for his “crazy” behavior is due to his Bipolar Disorder.
What is Bipolar Disorder?
Bipolar Disorder is a mental disease that causes unusual shifts in a person’s behavior. When a person has Bipolar Disorder, they may:
- Be unable to sit still
- Constantly think of bold ideas and feel motivation to achieve great things
- Have fast speeches that are difficult to interrupt
- Have poor sleep
- Have a strong sense of being one with god
- Get annoyed easily
Kanye for President?
As most people know, Kanye West was one of the candidates for president in 2020. He decided to run in the US election and said “he’s done with Trump”.
Most people thought his action was ridiculous and thought this was just him acting erratically. Most people are right.
Once in an interview, he claimed that God wanted him to be the leader of the free world.
He said that with the help of God, he would achieve his goal by winning the 2020 presidential election.
Interrupting others on stage
One of Kanye’s most famous incidents was when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009. While Taylor was on the stage saying how she was thankful for her award, Kanye ran up to the podium and said Beyoncé had made a better music video.
This action made many Taylor Swift fans and many other people think he doesn’t know how to respect others. However, this is just another effect of his Bipolar Disorder.
Kanye reacted to his own interruption at the VMAs, claiming again that God told him to interrupt.
Saying slavery is a choice
In a interview at TMZ headquarters, he appeared to say slavery was a choice. He had this to say: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years… For 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”
Anyone who heard this would think he was losing his mind.
After his comments, Kanye spoke out and apologized by saying slavery was not a choice. After the interview, he tweeted: “the reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can’t be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought… It was just an idea.” It should be noted that Kanye was likely off his medication in this instance.

In conclusion, although Kanye acts wildly and has caused many to hate him, no one should actually blame him. He is a talented rapper with Bipolar Disorder, not an insane person.
He has talent & in that he is exceptional. Bipolar disorder can only be managed with therapy & medication. I wish him well in his attempt to have a quality life. The good parts when they surface are like broken pieces of a mirror. My mother was very very sick undiagnosed mental illness. Was she bipolar? She refused therapy & my father didn’t push it b/c it might hurt her feelings. Sometimes the monster entered the room & other times a woman I yearned for most of my life
